Location: Banskobystrický kraj, okres Žarnovica, Hodruša - Hámre

GPS: N48°27'33'' E18°51'10''

The ski resort SALAMADRA Resort is situated in the middle of the Štiavnické vrchy Mountains, near the town of Banská Štiavnica. The SALAMANDRA Resort is one of the southernmost ski destinations in Slovakia.

The resort is accessible by car through the village Hodruša-Hámre or from Banská Štiavnica to Horná Roveň.

For enthusiasts of skiing and snowboarding there is a moderately difficult 1400m run and a super elevation of 271m. An express 4-seater chairlift with bubble chairs to protect skiers against bad weather transports visitors to the top of the ski run.

There is a 220m children's lift and an easy ski run near the lower chairlift station. Families with children will be happy to find a children's ski school and children's playground in the resort.

Ski runs are oriented northwest and covered with artificial snow.

Facilities of the resort include a restaurant, snack bar and après-ski bar, ski and snowboard rental, ski and snowboard servicing, ski school and snowboard school.

Other attractions in the resort include a snow-tubing track (dependent on natural snow) and snowmobile tour (if there is enough natural snow, it is possible to choose a small or large tour). You will find a natural skating ring at the bottom station.

Cross-country skiing

For lovers of cross-country skiing there are trails in the length of more than 10km. Access to the trails is from the top chairlift station, where skiers can be transported by the chairlift.

In the event of good snow conditions, the Regional Tourism Organisation of the Region Banská Štiavnica guarantees grooming of a 12km route from Veterné sedlo through Rosniarky to Červená studňa and back for classic-style skiing (if possible, also for skating-style skiing and other routes as well).
