The Hron is one of the longest Slovak
rivers flowing through the whole country. It springs below the mountain
Kráľova hoľa and flows to the Danube near Štúrovo. Although its fans navigate on almost the whole river, its nicest reach is what is referred to as Vlkanovské vlny below Banská Bystrica.
The Hron offers wonderful conditions for water tourism. Paddling down the river is not demanding because the river is inclined and kayak or canoe flows down easily carried by the stream.
Apart from navigation down the Hron one can also see several castle ruins towering directly on its banks and the wooden church in Hronsek. The foaming river and exciting navigation makes the trip an unforgettable experience.
