Come and taste high quality wines produced by almost thirty wine makers, awarded at many prestigious domestic and world competitions. In the autumn, you will have the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of the wine cellars and vaults, enjoy its unique wines right where it is being prepared, to talk with winemakers, and thus enjoy the charm of the Bratislava viticulture.
The
autumn project has involved almost thirty wine-growers and winemakers in the
Bratislava city districts, where the wine-growing and winemaking tradition was preserved and wine is produced - from Devín via Nové Mesto and Rača to Vajnory. Viticultural gourmets will be able to taste the quality and delicious wines, awarded at many prestigious domestic and world competitions. They will have the opportunity to learn the
secrets and the atmosphere of the old and new wine cellars and vaults, to enjoy this unique drink where it is being prepared, to talk with winemakers, and thus
enjoy the charm of the
Bratislava viticulture.
Winemakers from Devín will offer, besides the quality wines from the grapes grown on the slopes of Devínska Kobyla, also a local specialty of currant wine and a variety of currant specialties. Devín himself will also provide a view of the majestic castle of Devín, dominating to the confluence of the Danube and Morava.
Nové Mesto is famous for its vineyards, which spread on the slopes of the Little Carpathians. The agricultural cooperative Vinohrady will prepare a vineyard excursion, a tour of the production premises, and will show visitors around the production process.
Rača wine-growers and winemakers offer exclusively wines from the Rača terroir. They are especially proud of the “Genofond Lemberger” and its "Rača Lemberger" that is famous for the wine of the royal table, which healed the Empress Maria Theresa. In Rača, unique wine cellars will be opened in the basement of the German Cultural House and also Rača Room – an ethnographic and wine-growing exposure.
Winemakers from Vajnory will offer high-quality wines awarded with many medals from major wine competitions, produced from grapes grown in their vineyards on the southwest slopes of the Small Carpathian vineyard area. The agricultural cooperative Vajnory will also prepare a tour of its wine cellar and excursion of wine production for visitors. Vajnory will also make available the “Vajnory Folk House” – an exhibition of Vajnory's folk culture.
