The sightseeing trip starts at the Námestie A. Hlinku square next to its dominant, the Roman-Catholic church of St Andrew. The town hall built in 1897 stands next to the church. In the western end of the square is the area consisting of the Piarist monastery, the Roman Catholic church of the Holy Cross and the buildings of the Piarist grammar school.
The walk continues from the square to the remarkable architectural monument, the Calvary and then to the village Vlkolínec - the Monument Reserve of Popular Architecture situated on the southern slope of the mountain Sidorovo. This notable oasis of the old popular architecture has been included in the UNESCO List of the Natural and Cultural Heritage in 1993.
