The walk around the historic centre of Trnava starts at the central Trojičné námestie square. It is the traditional meeting point for people of Trnava. The dominant of the square as well as of Trnava in general is its town tower from 1574. The group of statues representing the Most Holy Trinity from 1695 stands in the middle of the square. It is surrounded by several Renaissance burger houses.

The Námestie sv. Mikuláša square is not far away and the building that dominates it is the important Gothic monument - St Nicholas Basilica which was the cathedral of the Archbishop of Esztergom in the years 1543-1820. The most valuable piece in its interior is the painting of the blessing Virgin Mary also referred to as the “merciful Virgin Mary of Trnava”.

The route continues from the Bazilica to the University Cathedral of St John the Baptist with the wooden altar in its interior from 1640. A remarkable Renaissance structure is the building of the former Oláh Seminar, part of the compound of valuable university buildings. Passing by them the route continues to the final point of the walk, the Trojičné námestie square.
