Lazy autumn sun, pretty park decoration, folk and jazz music, theater for children, orginally handmade products and happy people all around. Do not miss to come over to this very special Trnava fair and enjoy its overall pleasant atmosphere with interesting music, accompanying program and originally handmade products.
Various markets have a long story in Trnava, traditional
Trnava Fair being the most famous one. However, there were also other popular markets, including the square market. While jarmok comes from 'Jahr Markt', yearly market in German, the Slovak word for square fair "rínok" - or "rínek" in local Trnava dialect - comes from 'ring', both German and Slovak for circle, because tables were placed in a circle as the market-holders sold their wares at the town or village central square.
This modern urban market, based on a tradition of Saturday square markets and nowadays usually held every three moths in one of
historical streets in the centre of
Trnava, provides original handmade products from local producers and farmers - vegetable, fruit, meal products, wine, honey, cakes, decorations, fashion accessories, original clothes, jewelry and every other thing made with love. Every event has its own atmosphere - spring, summer, autumn or Christmas theme. Accompanying
programme is also prepared - live folk or jazz music, theater, workshops for kids or discussions.
At the market where people meet with delicous food, great music, workshops and hand made products, children can take part at a workshop programme in the gallery at the historical venue of
Trnava synagogue, enjoy theatrical pergformances or make their own pumpkin bogey right at the fair.
If you
like to spend a nice
Saturday afternoon, feel the amazing atmosphere, meet friends, buy healthy goodies or an original product, at Trnava Square Fair you are at the right place.
