The third Saturday of May, doors of many museums and galleries will stay open until midnight, offering a host of accompanying events, some of which do not require a knowledge of Slovak. All because of the International Museum Day.
The Slovak National Museum with all its venues belongs to participating institutions every year. Most of its approximately 50 museums in total will be open until midnight. Many castles, chateaux and manor houses administered by the National Museum will also stay open until late at night thus you can enjoy premises of Betliar Mansion, Bojnice Castle, Bratislava Castle, Dolná Krupá Manor House, Red Stone Castle or Spiš Castle in the extraordinary late evening and night atmosphere.
Night of Museums and Galleries is famous event which is organized in almost all European countries. Museums and galleries remain open for visitors all the night. You can visit exhibitions and enjoy guided tours in the museums, galleries and especially prepared events. Visitors will get in touch with secrets of the museums and galleries.
On Saturday, May 18th, 2019, the Slovak National Museum will join the 14th Night of Museums and Galleries event. Its venues will open its doors to the public in the unusual times. The National Museum coordinates this event in museums and galleries in Bratislava and the Bratislava Region with special transport to events by public transport.
