Kremnica Gags is a unique festival of good humour and satire with the participation of the top theatre, cabaret and music groups, as well as soloists, from Slovakia and abroad.
The festival has been held late in the summer since 1981 in different places of the ancient town of Kremnica, in squares, courtyards, along the town walls or in clubs.
The programme consists of alternating theatre actors and music groups, showing of film grotesques, exhibition of caricature, photographs and original recession actions are invented. The top of the event is the traditional awarding of the Golden Gander by the Slovak Academy of Humour in several categories. An inseparable part of the festival is the competition of the three-member teams for the Improvisation Cup, the exhibition of caricatures, the symposium of the kitsch, or the unveiling of the sculpture of the nose of a prominent Slovak humorist.
During the three days in Kremnica one can hear people laughing and singing and experience an excellent atmosphere.
