Enjoy the picturesque scenery and an adrenaline-pumping freeride through the forest, and get to know the Horehronie region located at a spot where the Low Tatras, the Slovak Paradise, and the Muránska Planina National Parks all meet. The Ski Telgárt resort, right at the foot of Kráľová Hoľa hill, is one of dozens of small ski resorts in Slovakia with a certain charm.

Small yet stylish
There are no cable cars – just some lifts and one hotel alongside serviced apartments and chalets; however, there’s no shortage of “black run” alpine skiing or night skiing opportunities. Skiers, snowboarders, and sledgers will all find their ideal runs here. There are about 6.5 kilometres of slopes in total and three freeride zones in the forest that offer an adrenaline rush. Also, you’ll discover truly breathtaking technical beauty while cross-country skiing – the Chmaroš viaduct.

Viaducts from the 1930s and a wooden hut from fairy tales
The four cross-country skiing trails in Telgárt will win your heart. The white trail runs directly under the stone-built Chmaroš viaduct, which is an acclaimed technical monument featuring a bridge eighteen metres high and more than one hundred metres long. Also discover the slightly lesser-known Telgárt viaduct which is nearby. Take off your cross-country skis and enjoy a coffee in the train carriage – now converted into a café – with a view of the surroundings. The circuit between Šumiac and Telgárt hides another symbol of Horehronie. Cross-country ski to Chamkova stodola – a wooden hut located amidst the most picturesque scenery. This is one of the most photographed places in Slovakia.
