The Prielom Hornádu canyon is one of the biggest tourist attractions of the Slovenský raj Mts. The narrow, 16 kilometre long canyon-like valley separates the marginal ridge culminating in the Tomášovský výhľad view (667 m) from the mountain range.
The 15 kilometre long route of instructive path Prielom Hornádu with eleven information boards leads through the lower stretch of the valley of the Hornád river.
The winter passage through the narrow is also charming. The play of lights passing though the giant bluish icicles is spectacular. The path called Chodník Horskej služby Prielomom Hornádu passes through the upper section of the narrow. It contains numerous technical aids making the passage easier and more comfortable; 374 metres of chains, 26 metres of ropes, 164 iron steps, 15 iron handles and 85 metres of footbridges secure the more than 4 kilometre long route.
The sections where the tourists climb the iron steps built-in the rock straight above the water of the Hornád are the most popular.
