Slovakia and five other countries along the Danube river basin will soon, thanks to Google, show to the whole world the beauty of the Danube River from a completely new perspective. Using the popular Street View service, it will be possible to navigate the Danube river basin virtually.
This is the world's first photo shoot for Street View ongoing together in six countries. A special camera mounted on board of a cruise ship is precisely in these days photographing the whole, more than 170-kilometer segment of the Danube in Slovakia; overall it will photograph the interval of the Danube from its delta in Cernavoda in Romania as far as to Bratislava. Thanks to the Street View technology, the users will soon be able to see the skylines of major sites when viewed from the Danube; they may virtually sail along architectural monuments, bridges or through the protected landscape area.
The project is the continuation of the "Google to Slovak Note“/„Google na Slovenskú nôtu“, which aims to preserve and spread Slovak culture, art and natural beauty.
