From January 18th, there will be the sixth unofficial ice statue carving world championship at Hrebienok – the Tatry Ice Master. Competitors from 10 countries will show their artistry in ice carving. They will be changing tonnes of ice to masterpieces of work during three days turning the site into a real Kingdom of Ice.
This year, two topics are waiting for the artists - "Save the planet" and "Fairytale World My Eyes". These will be evaluated one by one every evening. A manifold additional programme is prepared for visitors for both two days as well. Grand Ice Show with Fire effects will be performed on Saturday and Sunday.
Working on themes and its evaluation will be enriched with various competitions and acitivities. Exhibitions of backlit ice creations in the early evening atmosphere will change enliven by fire and Iie show as well as musical performances.
Once ice sculptors finish their works, freezing beauty will offer a colourful spectacle of ice sculptures illuminated by varicoloured lights until the weather would allow.
Enjoy a weekend of ice beauty, good music, delicious food and drinks and a grandiose ice-fire show at the end. Come to attend a unique ice sculpturing championships in the High Tatras. Take a funicular to get to the ice kingdom and enjoy a 3-km long sledge track from Hrebienok down to Starý Smokovec.
Tatry Ice Master is a 2-day international competition in ice carving, which is realized at Hrebienok in High Tatras since 2013. There are the best sculptors from around the world present here. Also this is the reason why this event is considered to be a non-official ice sculpting world championships.
