The majestic Spiš Castle opens wide for its annual public opening with all the grandeur to commemorate the glorious past. Opening ceremony of the summer toursit season at the 2018 most visited castle in Slovakia will take place the first weekend of May with free entry on Sunday.
The Spiš Castle is a unique example of a medieval royal castle. It was built in the late 12th and early 13th centuries. In the late 13th century, the castle had nearly reached its current size. In 1993, the castle was entered onto the list of UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage as a World Heritage Site. Almost 212 thousand people visited the castle last year.Web: The Spiš Museum
