In the summer, Donovaly changes into an oasis of peace with a pleasant environment for relaxation, but also for active relaxation in the form of hiking or cycling in the beautiful surroundings of the Low Tatras and Veľká Fatra national parks.
Known primarily as a winter ski resort, Donovaly resort offers its visitors many attractions and entertainment during the summer stay. In the summer of 2008, a summer adrenaline centre was built next to the TELEMIX Nová hoľa cable car valley station with dominant attractions – waterslide bobsled track, rope park, artificial climbing wall, bungee trampolines and classical trampolines –. An inflatable castle was added in the summer of 2013.Not only children, but also adults can enjoy a lot of fun. In addition to these attractions, Donovaly offers excellent conditions for mountaineering as it is located on the borderline of two national parks the Low Tatras and Veľká Fatra. The top of Nová hoľa can be comfortably reached by modern chairlift, is an ideal starting point for ridge hikes in Veľká Fatra. From the village of Polianka it is possible to follow a walking educational trail and learn about Špaňodolinský Mining Water Supply System, which served its purpose at the beginning of the 16th century.
