The Michael's Courtyard Gallery was founded on December 12, 1995. It is located in the basement area of the former Jesenák's Palace on Michalská no. 3 in Bratislava. The antique vaults and brick walls give a special feeling to the area that is frequented by both artists and numerous visitors.

The gallery has so far held 200 solo exhibitionsshowcasing works of visual artists not only from Slovakia, but also from the Czech Republic, Germany, Canada, USA, Belgium and Ukraine. The gallery also features book presentations, music concerts, CD release parties, press conferences and other cultural and social events.

In 1998, the gallery was complemented by an Art Shop that sells works of art, which mostly include works of artists whose pieces have previously been displayed by the gallery.
