The main public zone in Košice, the High Street, will this year transform into a fairy-tale Christmas land full of aromas, tastes, lights and great feelings. In metropolis of eastern Slovakia, they have prepared a wonderful program that will give families lots of fun and surprises. So come and join in the fairy-tale.
That Christmas is in the air is indicated by the traditional planting of a big Christmas tree on Košice
main pedestrian zone. This year
's main Christmas decoration is a Douglas fir from a village of Olšovany, 45 years old and 17 metres high.

this year will be even nicer and varied, because the atmosphere of Christmas will be highlighted by the Cathedral of St. Elisabeth
lit in liturgical colours. The Christmas tree has new decorations with new bright lights, and a nine-metre light installation by Down Gate will have a tree shape. The fountains will play with colours between the theatre and Immaculata and by Michal’s chapel, in the singing fountain 3D fish will ‘swim’ after last year’s success. Ice sculptures
will also be illuminated.

and angels. On 4th
December the tree will be lit, as well as the Cathedral of St. Elisabeth, popular Christmas markets
will open, and the first glass of charity Mayor’s punch served.

of November. Over these 4 weeks more than 1100 artists will perform. A good atmosphere
will be provided by famous Slovak performers, such Maduar, Celeste Buckingham, Ivanna Bagová, Mirka Partlová or Lady Colors as well as many, many others.
