51th International Folklore Festival.
One of the oldest folk festivals in Slovakia, the first year took place in 1966. The organisers focus on the preservation and presentation of traditional folk culture in the regions of Horehron, Pohronie , Podpoľanie and Gemer, also Liptov region, the Hont, Malohont, Novohrad, also areas of eastern, northern and western Slovakia.The scene composed programs during the three days of the festival every year are the folklore groups, country folk groups, children's folklore groups, folk music, singers and musicians from Slovakia and abroad. In addition to programs at the amphitheater stage the festival offers visitors a rich accompanying program in which it brings visitors closer to traditional crafts, local cuisine, customs and the famous of the region. Shows, ethnographic exhibitions, the folk entertainment and a comprehensive presentation of folk culture from selected municipalities (the project constitutes part of the village). The festival shall present about 1,500 performers.
