Getting here by boat

An attractive way of arriving in Slovakia is the international inland ship service connecting the two capitals of Vienna and Bratislava, dating back to 1964. Today, this connection between Vienna and Bratislava is provided by the luxury fast catamaran Twin City Liner from March to December, in high season (May-September) three times a day in either direction.

You can depart from Vienna, cross the state border unusually - on the Danube - and see the ruins of the medieval Devín Castle, towering a rock cliff above the confluence of the Danube and Morava rivers, and after 75-minute cruise you will alight in the very centre of the capital of the Slovak Republic - Bratislava. The ship deck will serve you with an exceptional view of the sights of Bratislava, showing its majestic beauty as reflected in the silent waves of the Danube.
