          Čičmany

The small village in the district of Žilina is a Slovak icon. It is known for its unique preserved architecture - wooden houses painted with white geometric patterns. Since 2013, these ornaments, which can also be found on Čičmany lace, have been included in the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Slovakia. Part of the village has been a monument reserve of folk architecture since 1977. The ornaments on the dark wooden houses are white, initially, they were made of white clay, later lime, and were created about 200 years ago. The view of the buildings is amazing, the wooden houses, which are a world rarity look like gingerbread fairy-tale houses. In the village you will also find a renovated mansion, a restaurant, and a cafe, so you can enjoy a nice day here.

            Oravský hrad (Orava Castle)

              Kremnica – Skalka Via Ferrata

If you love adrenaline, are not afraid of heights, and want to be surrounded by nature, the Via Ferrata on Skalka will meet all your expectations. Since 2017, the city of Kremnica has gradually built a diverse and wide network of via ferrata routes on Skalka, which in translation means secured climbing routes consisting of a steel rope fixed to the rock, and steel risers and sometimes bridges. Thanks to this, the climber can secure himself, so this activity is also suitable for beginners, of course, everyone must have the necessary equipment, which can be rented on the spot. In 2020, a newer Via Ferrata World was created here with the most difficult via ferrata route in Slovakia called „F-úha“ with difficulty "F" and with an attractive, glass footbridge offering views of the Kremnické vrchy (Kremnické Mountains) and the Turčianska Basin. The longest suspension via ferrata bridge in Slovakia, which is 78 meters long, was also made accessible. And right here, on this bridge, your perfect adrenaline selfie can be created! Podbanské – view on the Kriváň Peak

Podbanské is a picturesque village at the foot of the High Tatras popular among tourists. It has a unique, peaceful atmosphere and is sought after by people who want and at the same time don't want to be directly in the Tatras. This, originally a mining settlement, is located at the intersection of the Freedom Road and the Belá River and is popular for its location and wide range of accommodation and restaurant services. From Podbanské there is a beautiful panoramic view of the mountains, especially of the majesty of Kriváň Peak, which can be seen from probably the best angle from here. Kriváň is one of the highest peaks in Slovakia (2494 m above sea level) and due to its interesting curved shape it has become a symbol of our country, which definitely must not be missing in your photo album.

                    Šranecké piesky (Šranecké Dunes)

An area in the Záhorie region that has been here for millions of years, and yet only a few Slovaks know it. If you want an interesting photo that looks almost as if you were taking it in the desert, definitely come to Šranecké piesky, situated in the military district of Záhorie, near Malacky. The protected area of European importance is interesting because it is made of sand that was blown here by the wind from the Morava River more than 2.6 million years ago during the period of the interglacial and ice ages. This desert is lined with pine trees, which were planted here by Queen Maria Theresa to prevent it from expanding further. Many rare species of animals live here - various butterflies, beetles, the largest lizard in Slovakia - the green lizard,  11 different species of bats, and also horses. If you're going here for an interesting photo full of dunes, do it on a weekend when there isn't a military exercise going on here. (Photo: IG @somadriana)
