The Carnival is calling
The Carnival traditions in Slovakia are associated with revelry and feasting. Delicious, however fat food and huge portions of doughnuts are a must. Slaughterhouse foods, fire drinks, baked custards or caramel are popular at boisterous parties, masquerade balls and masqued processions, where mostly animal masks play the leading role. A wide range of typical frolicking songs is characteristic for this favourite period of year. The last days of Carnival's called Shrovetide are the most known and the jolliest time of this period. The longer it lasts, the better.
