Spišská Nová Ves invites you to celebrate World Tourism Day from 26th to 28th September 2025. During these three days, you can enjoy free access to the highest church tower in Slovakia, open churches, guided tours of historical monuments, and creative workshops. A rich accompanying program awaits you in the museum, gallery, library, and even at the zoo, where discounts and special offers will be available. The event will also involve the Hotel Academy and local cultural organizations that will present the treasures of the region. Come and explore the beauty of Spišská Nová Ves and enjoy a colorful program for the whole family.

FRIDAY, 26 Sep 2025 – free church tower climbs, guided city tour with a historian, full day of art and workshops in the gallery, travel-themed book events, presentation of Slovenský raj & Spiš Tourism Board, Hotel Academy presentation – students as tour guides, tastings, tours of the Jewish cemetery, mining exhibition, railway mini-museum, and military bunker.
SATURDAY, 27 Sep 2025 – discount at the zoo, photo exhibition with accompanying program.
SUNDAY, 28 Sep 2025 – churches open to the public for guided tours, discount at the hotel wellness center.

Join us for a coffee picnic for cycling enthusiasts, featuring breathtaking views and high-quality coffee from the local roastery Kávaprevšetkých – Roastery under the Castle, as part of the World Tourism Day 2025 celebrations. The event takes place on Saturday, 27 September 2025. Meeting point is at 10:00 a.m. by the buffet in the Sihoť City Park.

Route: Sihoť City Park – Čakajovce – Ľudovítová – Mechenice – Dražovce – Sihoť City Park. This is a more challenging route designed for MTB and e-bikes, with a total distance of 33 km. Together with the Roastery under the Castle, we will prepare fresh coffee for you in nature – beneath the Hôrka lookout tower near the village of Podhorany, offering beautiful and unforgettable views.

Hunters under the Castle is a celebration of hunting, nature conservation, and Slovak traditions. The event will take place on 27 September 2025 in the courtyard of Levice Castle. The program includes a St. Hubert Mass, ceremonial awards for contributions to Slovak hunting, performances by folk ensembles and horn players from the Slovak Hunting Horn Club, a raffle, and an evening hunting festivity. A rich accompanying program awaits: wild game goulash cooking competition, hunting dog and archery demonstrations, falconry displays, air rifle shooting, wildlife calling techniques, children’s games and competitions themed “In the Footsteps of Hunting,” traditional crafts including woodcarving, face painting, a bouncy castle, and the humorous raffle “Cartridge in a Sack.”

Visitors can also enjoy regional culinary specialties such as Brhlovce steamed buns and strudels, Pukanec noodles, and traditional dumplings and pancakes from Nová Dedina. We look forward to seeing you there!
