Festival of Royal Wines

The event will feature the presentation of the 2025 Royal Skalica Ruby and the 2025 Royal Blaufränkisch, along with a selection of wines from registered winemakers of the Skalica wine-growing region. Modra Wine Harvest Festival

Visitors can look forward to traditional grape harvest celebrations from 5 to 7 September 2025. While the festival honours long-standing traditions, it also introduces modern elements into its programme. The main theme is viticulture and winemaking, so you can expect an old-fashioned grape pressing demonstration, showcases of forgotten crafts, and tastings of wine, must, and young wine (burčiak). These experiences will be available not only in cellars, wine taverns, and courtyards, but especially at two main "wine hubs" – Vínostan on Sokolská Street and Vínozóna on Dukelská Street. Miners’ Fair in Prievidza

The largest and most attended occasional market in the city of Prievidza takes place annually on the second weekend of September. In 2025, it will be held from September 5th to 7th at its traditional location in the Píly housing estate. This year marks the 39th edition of the event. Vendor stalls will line both sides of the one-way streets on M. R. Štefánik Street and B. Björnson Street, while cultural performances will take place on J. C. Hronský Square. Attractions for children, including carousels, will be set up in the city park and also on the parking lot between the ice rink and the sports hall.
The fair traditionally begins with a parade starting from the House of Culture, proceeding along Svätopluk Street and M. R. Štefánik Street to J. C. Hronský Square. The official opening ceremony features a speech by Mayor JUDr. Katarína Macháčková and a presentation of local mining traditions.
Days of Masters ÚĽUV 2025

On 6 and 7 September 2025, the Days of Masters ÚĽUV will transform the centre of Slovakia’s capital into a vibrant craft square for the 35th time. Visitors can enjoy demonstrations of traditional techniques, live craft performances, a market of master artisan products, a rich cultural programme, and popular creative workshops for children organized by the ÚĽUV School of Crafts – listed in the UNESCO Register of Good Safeguarding Practices. The event will also feature an outdoor exhibition titled “Celebrating Craft. 80 Years Already,” a family relaxation and play zone, and gastronomy areas offering traditional Slovak cuisine.
Radvanský Fair

The tradition of fairs has been connected to the history of Banská Bystrica since the 17th century. The first fair in Radvany, then an independent village, took place in 1657. It gradually became one of the most significant fairs in Hungary at the time, mainly renowned for its high-quality and diverse goods. Sellers from various regions, both distant and nearby, came to the fair. The Radvanský Fair is listed on the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Slovakia. Traditional Trnava Fair 2025

Open Tokaj Cellars Day 2025

You are invited to the 20th edition of the Tokaj Cellars Tour with wine tasting, taking place on 13 September 2025 in Veľká Tŕňa, Malá Tŕňa, Veľká Bara, Viničky, and Ladmovce. Each winemaker will offer a tasting of four Tokaj wine samples along with regional Tokaj specialties. The cellars will be open on 13 September 2025 from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM in Veľká Tŕňa, Malá Tŕňa, Veľká Bara, Viničky, and Ladmovce. A free circular shuttle service between the Tokaj villages will be available, with buses departing from Čerhov railway station. Spišská cesta destilátov

The Spišská Cesta Destilátov (Spiš Distillery Route) is inspired by wine routes and represents a unique project dedicated to the world of honest, traditional spirits. Visitors will have the chance to taste up to 794 international samples – 153 from distilleries and 641 from fruit growers and small-scale distillers – evaluated by the prestigious Carpathian Quality tasting commission. Three stops, one story – that is the essence of the Spiš Distillery Route. The heart of the event is Stará Ľubovňa, from where the route leads to three unique distilleries: Spišská Pálenica, Castle Distillery, and Nestville Distillery (Hniezdne). Each location offers a distinct atmosphere combining tradition, innovation, and the craft of authentic spirit production. However, the event is not only about tastings – it's a celebration of master distillers, regional culinary heritage, and local traditions. The route connects distilleries, fruit orchards, and the cultural heritage of the region, offering an authentic experience right inside the distilleries.
