Grand Prix Qualification - World Championships

This is a motorcycle race on a speedway track, with Žarnovica being the only place in Slovakia with a functioning speedway stadium where such races can take place. Saturday, 7 June, will be dedicated to the most significant event of the 2025 season. The qualification for the Grand Prix for the next year will bring top riders from fifteen countries to the starting line. Only the best of the best will advance.

Bratislava Open 2025

JBL JUMP FEST

Since 2016, JBL JUMP FEST has been bringing world athletics closer to the people, right to the heart of Košice, in front of St. Elizabeth’s Cathedral. This year, you can look forward to the 10th edition of the event. The event is part of the World Athletics Continental Tour, which allows participating athletes to qualify for the Olympics, World Championships, and other major events. In 2025, JBL JUMP FEST will be included for the first time in the prestigious World Athletics Continental Silver series, marking the highest possible ranking for a street meeting.

UEFA European Under-21 Championship

In the summer of 2025, the best young European footballers will also compete in Košice as part of the 2025 UEFA European Under-21 Championship. This will be the third edition of the tournament with 16 participating teams, but Slovakia will make history as the first country ever to host such a major event on its own. Matches will be played in eight Slovak cities — Bratislava, Dunajská Streda, Košice, Prešov, Trnava, Trenčín, Nitra, and Žilina — from June 11 to June 28. A total of 16 teams, including Slovakia, will take part in the championship, with 31 matches scheduled to be played throughout the tournament.

Faster than a Train

Orava is famous for its picturesque nature, korbáčik cheese, and great writers. However, it also hides another phenomenon – the Oravka train. This little train reaches an average speed of 30.9 km/h, partly due to the numerous stops throughout Orava. This speed is comparable to that of amateur cyclists in training. And so, a simple idea was born – can cyclists outrun the train on a 56-kilometer route?
