The EnduroGP World Championship is historically the oldest motorcycle sport in the world, dating back to the very beginnings of the motorcycle era, and it was the first official race under the auspices of the World Motorcycle Federation – FIM. The town of Gelnica is the ideal place for this event, as it combines the most beautiful things that Enduro could wish for – geographical location and a high level of equipping in terms of services. The event points out the beautiful nature around the town of Gelnica, where the route of the race participants is led through the most beautiful scenery and amazing views that give the given sport its stamp.

Behaj lesmi is a series of 7 races in nature during the months of April – August 2024. These races attract its participants to paths that lead from 80% over soft surfaces and 100% in fresh air. Competitors in Behaj lesmi races will explore unique locations in the most beautiful places of the Slovak Republic. The races always offer a shorter route of around 10 kilometres and a longer one of around 20 kilometres, or a charity run which is approximately 5 kilometres long. Children’s Dr. Max races and team competitions are also a given. Among the attractions of the series are: Devín Castle, the fairy-tale village of Čičmany, the genuine wilderness of the Veľká Fatra mountains, unique views of the Calvary and the whole town of Banská Štiavnica, running through the Chodník korunami stromov (“treetop walk”), or the beautiful environment of the Topoľčianky wine region and, most recently, the real forest environment of Slovenský raj national park (Slovak Paradise).

The 62nd World Championship in the Vaurien boat class, which will be held from 13 to 19 July 2024 at Liptovská Mara. More than 70 crews from more than 13 countries around the world are expected to take part in the event. Aside from the competitors, the organisers, too, are looking forward to many boating fans who will come to cheer on the representatives of their countries.

Banská Bystrica will once again come to life with a sports holiday at the international level. The European Under-18 Athletics Championships will take place in the town beneath the Urpín peak. This is an continental championship of adolescents, where 1,500 representatives and implementation team members from 48 countries will take part in the SNP National Athletic Stadium in Štiavničky.
