Run the Forests

Run the Forests is a series of 7 races held in unique natural locations from May to September 2025, attracting runners with routes that are 80% on soft terrain and 100% in fresh air. Each race offers a choice of distances: approximately 5 km, around 10 km, and a longer route of about 20 km. The event also includes children’s races and team competitions. Highlights of the series include the fairy-tale village of Čičmany, the genuine wilderness of the Greater Fatra Mountains, a run along the Tree Tops Trail, the beautiful surroundings of the Topoľčianky wine region, and other scenic locations. Starry Ride by Cycle Draisines or Astro Train

An evening star observation guided by professional astronomers at the Šánske passing loop in the Hrončianska Valley, on the border between Čierny Balog and Hronec villages, will take place on 30 August 2025 at 8:00 PM. You can book a night train ride on the Čiernohronská Railway from Čierny Balog to the observation site, or an adventurous ride by cycle draisines with headlamps from the main depot in Hronec. Trip price: €18 per adult, €12 per child aged 3 to 15 (the recommended minimum age for child participants is 6 years).
