Young visitors can enjoy the “alchemist’s” stall with magical drinks, while adults can sample wine made from historical recipes. The event also aims to complement selected exhibitions focusing on the Middle Ages and Easter celebrations, presented through the engaging format of living history.

For the fifth time, the non-profit organization Pro Castello Comaromiensi invites brave cooking teams to compete in preparing dishes over an open fire using authentic 19th-century recipes! This unique culinary competition will transport you back to the era of campfires and traditional flavors. A panel of expert judges will evaluate not only the taste of each dish but also the authenticity of its preparation. The contest takes place on Sunday, 27 April 2025, in the historic Old Fortress of Komárno – just before a spectacular reenactment of a battle scene from the revolutionary years of 1848–49. Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind historical and culinary experience!
