The 12th year of Winter Rafting in carnival outfits through Dunajec Canyon from Červený Kláštor to Lesnica is to take place the last weekend of January. Adventurous rafting down the river through picturesque countryside of Pieniny National Park is very popular tourist attraction and it has a special atmosphere outside the main season, especially in wintertime and even more during The Carnival.
Of the total 9 km of the Dunajec River, the most beautiful part is the gorge itself where the river goes downwards with only a few rapids. The Dunajec gorge is part of the nature reservation. Out of all the nature and beauty in the region of Zamagurie, gorge stands out the most.
PROGRAMME
Friday, January 24th
from 05:00 p.m. - a country music session in the Pieniny Sport Centrum rental shop, Červený Kláštor No. 37
Saturday, January 25th
11:30 a.m. - winter rafting participants get together, prepare the boats (rafting equipment and boats provided)
12:00 p.m. - embarkation and rafting down Dunajec Canyon
03:00 p.m. - goulash, rum and tea at the finish in Pieniny Chalet; return by bus, land the boats
06:30 p.m. - a good time in good company
The region of Zamagurie has a magical atmosphere. This region is best known because of it's valuable historical sites as well as natural beauties. The river Dunajec offers a wonderful experience and breathtaking scenery to the tourists. Dunejec, Pieniny National P and it is surroundings are so interesting that they are best seen from water and the bikes or by foot.
