Drummers from various countries, rhythms from faraway continents, fun all around – this is Drumpoint Slovakia festival. It is held in Nitra to bring joy to its streets.
Drumpoint Festival Slovakia combines drummers from various countries and rhythms from all the continents. It will get streets rocking for the fourth time in Slovakia over June 1st - 4th, 2017.
As a part of Festival of Flavours of Nitra Region, this festival of drums and percussion returns to Slovakia - a place where drum orchestras and bans from the whole Europe are meeting to celebrate rhythm, energy and a beautiful sound of exotic Brazilian drums.
The guys behind the project were inspired by the tradition of successful European festivals. The Samba-Festival Coburg (Germany) attracts over 200.000 Brazilian music enthusiasts annually, and the Notting Hill Carnival (UK) has up to a million visitors every year. Nitra is the only city in Slovakia with two drum bands – so it’s the ideal location!
Friday will be hot in Nitra! Cool drinks, beautiful dancers and South American rhythms – all these openair in a pleasant environment of HidePark.
On Saturday Nitra's streets will fill with drummers. After a day workshop supervised by Mestre Mio, bands from the Czech Republic, Germany and Slovakia will perform at various stages in the city centre. The highlight will be at Hidepark, where dozens of drummers will unite to perform a dazzling drumming show.
This unique drum and percussion festival brins together drummers from across Europe and organising workshops in co-operation with top instructors. Leadership of the workshops will be provided by the samba stars – Roberta & Marivaldo Paim (Brasil) a Juljan Krampä(Germany). We can also look forward to the new drummers bands from several countries.
