Drumpoint Festival Slovakia combines drummers from various countries and rhythms from all the continents. It will get streets rocking for the very first time in Slovakia over May 16 - 18, 2014.

This festival of drums and percussion is coming to Slovakia - bringing together drummers from across Europe and organising workshops in co-operation with top instructors.

The guys behind the project (The Tambores Art Company) were inspired by the tradition of successful European festivals. The Samba-Festival Coburg (Germany) attracts over 200, 000 Brazilian music enthusiasts annually, and the Notting Hill Carnival (UK) has up to a million visitors every year. Nitra is the only city in Slovakia with two drum bands – so it’s the ideal location!

On Saturday 17 May Nitra’s streets will fill with drummers. After a day workshop supervised by Mestre Mio, bands from the Czech Republic, Germany and Slovakia will perform at various stages in the city centre. The highlight will be at Svätopluk Square, where dozens of drummers will unite to perform a dazzling drumming show.
