On Mierové Square, a rich program awaits you until December 23 – concerts, craft stalls, and winter walks. Throughout Advent, from December 5 to January 6, children can enjoy a Christmas-themed treasure hunt called “Secrets of Christmas Symbols.” The game plan can be picked up at the Regional Information Center on Mierové Square.

As part of the European Capital of Culture – Trenčín 2026, the Advent season brings a colorful mosaic of artistic experiences, discussions, exhibitions, theater performances, and community gatherings. The Miloš Alexander Bazovský Gallery in Trenčín will host lectures, guided tours, and exhibitions titled “Rooted in Trenčín,” showcasing regional artists in the context of their time. Culture in Trenčín thrives through theater, literature, and community. The program “Trenčín Lives Through Theater” offers plays, discussions, and performances with contemporary social themes, while the Trenčín Literary Festival invites you to meet authors, enjoy readings, and join literary debates in intimate city spaces.

To make Advent in Trenčín truly about togetherness, the program includes charity activities – reading fairy tales in hospitals, schools, and community centers, bringing culture to places where it’s not always accessible. The pre-Christmas program culminates on December 20 with a concert that will fill Mierové Square with folk melodies, powerful voices, and the energy typical of authentic Slovak Christmas.
