In all bigger towns of Slovakia services of public transport (MHD) are available, which are used by the majority of local citizens. The ticket prices in particular towns vary only slightly. The difference is in their form, validity and in the rules, where tickets are sold – somewhere directly in the vehicle (i.e. Trenčín), in other towns the ticket has to be bought in advance (i.e. Bratislava). Each ticket is valid only in the town where it was purchased.

Taxi services are available in all towns and tourist centres in Slovakia.
It is recommended to ask about the price before getting in car or to be informed about approximate prices in advance. It is cheaper to order a taxi via phone.
