The history of urban downhill races goes back to 1999 when the first CITY DOWNHILL race was held in Lisbon. The idea itself arose after watching the Downhill World Cup in the mountains along with worldwide urban street races. The organisers decided to create something new and world-famous that brings much more publicity and benefits to all stakeholders – from the riders, partners, and sponsors up to the creators of this bold idea themselves. And they managed to do it! Soon, we will be able to enjoy the second annual City Downhill World Tour in Bratislava. Last year the series featured four stops: Valparaiso (Chile), Santos (Brazil), Bratislava and Taxco (Mexico). This year, there will be one more stop in Bilbao (Spain).
