The Thermalpark Dunajská Streda car camping site is located directly in the Dunajská Streda Thermalpark area, which is one of the most sought-after recreational centres in south Slovakia. The Eurovelo 6 route will lead you through approximately 80 kilometres of the beauties of the Nitra region – from the Číčovské mŕtvé rameno dead river arm and floodplain forests to lookout towers, Veľký Lél island, historical Komárno, the Roman fortress at Iža, the Patince spa, to the picturesque Kravany nad Dunajom and at the end the town of Štúrovo. We would like to draw your attention to a stop just a short distance from the village of Veľké Kosihy. Here you’ll find Veľký Lél island, near which is a campsite suitable for lovers of caravanning. Aside from accommodation and a buffet, the campsite offers other many services, such as bird watching, horse riding and water tourism. If you plan to spend a few nights in this location and enjoy the entire Eurovelo 6 route, the Zlatý Hucul campsite in Zlatná na Ostrove (Ekofarma Ostrov) is the perfect place to park your caravan. It includes wooden cabins with two beds and a space for camping and parking with a caravan. If you like experiential accommodation, you can also sleep in a granary. The site was renovated in 2018, and you can also see an interactive exhibition on the natural habitats of the Danube floodplains.

The summer months in Duchonka are enlivened with a varied programme under the open sky. Among the most popular are the Outdoormamas Festival, the Overland Festival or the VIAVON Festival. If you are looking for challenges and panoramic views, set off on a hike to the highest hill in the Nitra Region – Panská Javorina. On its peak is a 16-metre-high wooden lookout tower offering unbeatable views of the valleys of the Váh and Nitra rivers and the Tribeč, Strážovské vrchy and Small Carpathian mountain ranges. Revište hrad castle is located near the campsite, and on weekends there are guided tours and various cultural events for the public. The campsite surroundings are also connected to the cycling routes of the Kľakovská dolina valley.

In the Horehronie region (Upper Hron) you’ll find accommodation in a real sheepfold

You can experience an unforgettable holiday in the beautiful surroundings of the Muránska Planina National Park. You can enjoy a wonderful view of the natural wealth from the Zbojská Lookout Tower, which is located on the opposite hill. Not far from it stands a larger-than-life wooden statue of Jakub Surovec, the most feared local bandit. It is part of the educational Bandit Trail that leads through the Devil’s Ravine oversteps and ladders.
