The second instalment of the “Castles of the Heart of Europe” documentary series is coming out on DVD.
The new documentary Castles of the Heart of Europe II. showcases the current state of the castles of the Nitra and Žilina Regions with the help of an aerial camera.The first instalment was dedicated to 28 castle monuments in the Banská Bystrica Region.
This series is a unique work of art – an aerial documentary with footage of the castles from different, captivating perspectives.
The documentary includes footage of all of the castles in the Nitra and Žilina Regions, which have more to show viewers than just the scarce remains of their walls or small imperfections in the terrain.
The documentary contains aerial footage of 22 castles and the structures later built on top of the former castle foundations.
The aerial footage is accompanied by the music of the castles’ respective period of history, in modern adaptation.
Some footage is accompanied by the thoughts of the philosopher, mathematician, physicist, and writer Blaise Pascal.
The footage of the individual castles contains a description, including the name of the structure, the century of the creation of the first castle structure in the given place, and the district in which the structure is located.
The DVD contains both Slovak and English versions. The documentary portrays the history and the beauty of Slovakia in a very interesting and pleasant manner, and it should not be overlooked by anyone interested in Slovak history and culture.
