The Archaeological Museum is a specialized museum workplace with nationwide scope. It focuses on the acquisition, documentation, restoration, preservation, presentation and publication of archaeological findings in the territory of Slovakia from prehistoric times to the high Middle Ages.

The rich collection of the Archeological Museum contains a number of rare finds from various regions of Slovakia from prehistoric times to modern times, mainly from its own archaeological research. The rarest of them are presented in the Oldest History of Slovakia exhibit. The archaeological museum is located in the Renaissance Kamper manor on Žižková ul. 12.

On January 29, 2009, the exhibition The Oldest History of Slovakia was officially made accessible to the visually impaired population. As part of the exhibition, a tactile line with exhibits is created, supplemented with texts in Braille. The visitor has at his disposal a portable audio device (audioguide) - an audio guide with acoustic information about the identification of the space, development periods from prehistoric times to the late Middle Ages and individual exhibits of the tactile line. The audio guide has currently expanded the offer for all visitors in 4 languages ​​in Slovak, English, German and Hungarian according to their own choice. (Žižkova Street 16)

From January to September 2010, the exhibition - Bojná - an important princely center of the ancient Slavs is open. The exhibition presents the important archaeological site of Bojná - the place where a fortified residence stood in the 9th century with the oldest evidence of the Christianization of our ancestors.
