As a real Christmas destination, the capital of Slovakia can only satisfy all season's atmosphere seekers with multiple Christmas themed markets. For the third time, Christmas mood will spread over the Castle Hill in Bratislava, too.
In addition to historical centre, another Bratislava Christmas market will be again held at the castle as well. This capital city symbol, administered by the Parliament Office, will become a lively place during the pre-Christmas period.
Two days before the first Advent Sunday a new tradition continues at the Bratislava Castle. In the courtyard of the Castle and around the Castle Palace building you can find an advent market, live nativity scene, music, various decorations, traditional Slovak Christmas food and drinks and a good atmosphere. The third traditional event at the Bratislava Castle, Advent at the Castle, will focus on the tradition, family and helping others. The main idea is to celebrate Advent with a good mood.
Already on November 30, 2018, stalls with refreshments and Christmas products will be opened. Be sure not to miss typical Christmas goodies such as lokša, Roma-style roasted pork, bread with pork fat and fresh waffles, great punch, mulled wine and warm tea. The markets will be opened every day, with culture programmes such as concerts and events focused on families with children on weekends. Advent at the Bratislava most famous dominant will run until December 19.
Children can look forward creative workshops where they can learn how to create toys from tusk or the art of glass painting. Every Wednesday adults will have the opportunity to create their own wooden laser-cut Christmas ornamentation using decoupage technique. At the weekend concerts of a jazz diva Jana Gavač, Chick2Chick, or the popular cimbalom band Ľudovka will surely please everyone who enjoys good music.
As part of the event Advent at the Castle, a great charity crowdfunding event will take place. Visitors will be able to give away blankets or old leash and collars for Animal Freedom NGO (Sloboda zvierat). School supplies, personal hygiene products, or English books – all these are welcomed contributions to the children's home in Uganda. You can also join a great charity event St. Nicholas socks giveaway prepared in cooperation with the Slovak Catholic Charity.
Aimed at creating a new tradition in the Slovakia's capital, the event entitled Advent at the Castle is organised by National Council of the Slovak Republic.
