After the Ice Hockey World Championships, Bratislava is to host yet another important sporting event. For the first time, capital of Slovakia will welcome the world's best karatists of the World Union of Karate-DO Federations. Bratislava will host the 8th WUKF Karate World Championships and the 1st World Championships in Kobudo in all categories – from 6 years-old children to 61+ seniors.

From June 17th, crowds of the best karatists will be coming to Bratislava to compete in the World Championships in Karate and Kobudo. From June 20 to 23, 2019, the Ondrej Nepela Arena in Bratislava will become the hub of the world-class karate performances.

The organizer, Slovak Federation of Karate and Martial Arts, will make sure that this year's WUKF tournament is the best. It is expected to welcome more contestants than attended in Dundee, Scotland in 2018, meaning over 2,800 contestants from around 60 countries will come to Bratislava. Since WUKF is open to a number of different karate federations from one country, its membership base has been growing steadily over the years.
