Description of the route: Moderately difficult high-mountain tour with comparatively long and strenuous ascent to the Kráľova hoľa Mt. The fact that the mountain is so massive and wide is the cause why there is relatively long distance between the top and the surrounding settlements. In case of bad weather you can quickly return to Šumiac using the asphalt road.
The view from the top of the Kráľova hoľa Mt. (1,946 m) adorned by bizarre rocks corresponds to the fact that this dominant mountain at the middle of Slovakia is visible from near and distant places. You can see the Muránska planina plateau and Stolické vrchy Mts. in the south, karstic plateaux of the Slovenský raj Mts. in the east, and the main ridge of the Nízke Tatry Mts. in the east. But the north boasts the most beautiful horizon: the High Tatras and West Tatras towering high above the sub Tatra basins.
