Spišské trhy Fair in Spišská Nová Ves continues the tradition of annual markets based on the privileges awarded by the king. At present it has a history of more than 50 years and it is one of the oldest events of this kind in Slovakia.

Spišské trhy Fair is held in the middle of July in the main square and contiguous streets of the town of Spišská Nová Ves. It has large attendances of tradesmen and visitors from the all over Slovakia as well as from abroad. Representatives of partner towns of Spišská Nová Ves also attend the Fair.

Rich cultural and entertainment program is also part of the Fair offering a lot of music and fun and lasting as a open-air event until early morning hours. The four-day event is also very popular among the youngest visitors to the Fair for whom the numerous merry-go-rounds of almost any kind imaginable are something like the Slovak Disneyland.

Simultaneously, the famous Spišské výstavné trhy Fair (Spiš Exhibition and Trade Fair) is organized, which is the most important fair in all the Spiš and Podtatransky regions, presenting products and services primarily from building industry, furniture, gardening, household textiles and accessories. The Spiš Moto Show is also part of the trade fair.
