The blankets of our grandmothers, picnic baskets, coffee in the flask, badminton or balls made of clay. The contemporary picnic will take place on the right bank of Danube River and is a part of Urban Art Festival on July the 1st. Welcome to new edition of Bratislava Vintage Picnic!

Many of us have long forgotten the nostalgia of the past when we still had time for everything. On the first day of summer holidays, the organizers of the second Bratislava Old School Picnic, which celebrates the way of life of the first half of the 20th century, continue with the tradition in the oldest public park in the Central Europe, Janko Kráľ City Park.

Dress yourself in style of 1920s to 1950s and come to attend the picnic taking place in one of the oldest parks in Europe, Janko Kráľ City Park in Bratislava. Bring your picnic basket, blanket, leave your mobiles at home and enjoy beautiful Sunday afternoon in a companion of warm and friendly people tuned to the same wave.

The atmosphere in the park in Bratislava's Petržalka will transport its visitors 100 years in the past to the period of the First Czechoslovak Republic. The program is truly manifold and it comes with plenty of activities – authentic music groups, fashion shows, dance workshops, a stylish men’s barber, a women’s salon, a photobooth, an exhibition of hand-made vintage motobycicles Furka Motors or a popular “Escape Room” with the theme The Secret of the Wine Cellar.

Programme on the stage will be full of hot jazz and swing music, dance workshops or fashion show of vintage clothes. It will continue with a lecture organized by the civic association Bratislavské rožky about the famous people visiting Bratislava during the inter-war period. A very important part of the picnic is information about the history of Bratislava and a voluntary donation for the renovation of a historical monument in Bratislava. The cherry on the pie is a romantic dance under the stars under the baton of the gorgeous swing orchestra Fats Jazz Band.

Grab your grandmother’s blanket, picnic baskets, search the house for badminton rackets, leave your mobile phone at home and enjoy a day like our grandparents used to. If you also have a matching piece of clothing, do not hesitate and dress up!
